The Government of Indonesia recently enacted the Law No. 27 of 2022 regarding Personal Data Protection ("the PDPL"). The PDPL is regarded as the main reference to personal data protection – or in other words, the "umbrella provisions" of personal data protection that also covers cybersecurity in Indonesia. The coverage of the PDPL is more comprehensive compared to the previous enacted regilations within cybersecurity, in which it covers every personal data within the electronic and-non electronic system.
